Following the death of her husband, formidable matriarch Bernarda Alba will do anything to protect her family’s fortune and the future of her five daughters. A deal is struck – a marriage of convenience between her eldest girl and the son of a business rival. But though the eldest has the money to attract Bernie’s choice, it is the youngest who has the youth and beauty to keep him.  Bernarda must ensure that the wedding happens, and quickly. But five headstrong daughters imprisoned within the family home filled with an atmosphere of bitter rivalry and repressed sexuality makes for an epic task
